Those are some sweet warbirds. Oregon has a decent air museum -- The Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum. The jewel of the collection is Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose. There's another one in Madras, OR (aka nowhere) which features only WWII aircraft. It's a great collection that includes all the headline planes like the P-51, F4U Corsair, P-47, P-38 and the B-17, along with a B-25, TBM Avenger, SBD Dauntless, ME-109, Focke-Wulf 190 and KI-43. The best part? They all fly.
That's incredible! We had some classics in Galveston that still flew, but I believe they moved inland to Houston after one too many hurricanes. There's also the Commemorative Air Force out there, with a branch not too far from here that does fly-by's for football games, etc... I really need to go see their collection at some point.
