Have you heard the song "The Highwayman" he sings alongside Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, and Waylon Jennings? It's a cool song, but Johnny Cash's portion of the song has the craziest lyrics; the last thing you can imagine him singing.
Oh, yeah. It's not exactly a staple on the radio, but it gets rotated through, and I've got it on a CD somewhere. I always like it when country delves into the sci-fi realm or the ghostly. It's always a weird complimentary thing, like peppers in chocolate.
I remember when I realized one of my favorites, "Come Sail Away" by Styx was about space aliens. I don't know if it ruined the song for me, but...it got weird.
well, as my entry to Styx was "Mr. Roboto", I think when I actually listened to the lyrics for "Come Sail Away" in college, somehow it all just seemed part of a continuum for that era of Styx.
