Signal Watch Call for Entries: What Spooky Movies Shall I Watch this October?

Hi y'all!

October is just around the corner.  I need to consider what spoooooky movies I can watch as we head into the haunted season.

let's blow the lid off this Halloween!

If you've hung around the past few years, you should know all about my love of Frankenstein movies and classic Universal Horror films.  And, of late, I've liked a lot of the Hammer films I've had a chance to see.  I'll check out a Vincent Price flick, and I'm pretty fond of stuff that rides the line between cheesy and scary.


Really, if it's in the mode of ghosts, Dracula, Frankenstein, mummies, swamp creatures, invisible men, haunted houses, cursed pumpkin patches, space mutants, etc... I'll always be willing to give it a try.  I'm disinclined to check out the more recent pictures of the torture porn variety,  so you can hang onto those suggestions.  I'm also not that into 80's-style slasher movies.

But there's nothing like a good crowdsourcing to hear what you guys have seen that you've liked that could make for some terrific Halloween frights.

I've missed a lot of movies you guys have suggested over the years, but now is as good a time as any to send me a recommendation, possibly send it again.  While I will watch some of my Halloween favorites again this year (Bride of and Young Frankenstein)  I really do want to watch some new stuff.  And, keep in mind, I don't watch much horror or non-Kaiju monster movies*, so almost everything is going to be new to me.

bonus points for including Julie Adams in your movie.  Yowza.

*every damn Halloween AMC runs Kaiju movies.  I know they're technically monsters, but with 100 years of non-Kaiju monster and horror movies, that always seems a bit off to me
